Iris Harter, born in Wiener Neustadt in 1982, grew up in Burgenland and lives in Vienna and Graz. She studied theater, film, and media studies/journalism at the University of Vienna (completed) and trained as a psychotherapist (not completed…at least not yet).
She has worked in a wide variety of areas for different places such as Theater Nestroyhof Hamakom Vienna, Schauspielhaus Vienna, transformale Carinthia, Tanzquartier Vienna, ImPulsTanz, Dschungel Vienna, Theater Kosmos Bregenz, Theater Phönix Linz, Werk X-Petersplatz, University of Vienna, PEN Club Austria, and the Spanish Riding School Vienna. She currently works as a dramaturge, author and production manager. Since 2021, she has been dramaturge at Next Liberty in Graz and has been involved in summer theater in Upper Austria for many years, where she is part of the artistic management team at Theater im Hof Enns and adapts, translates, and writes classical and less classical material.
She is currently a member of the STELLA*26 jury (Performing Arts Award for Young Audiences).
Furthermore, she takes part as author in the Drama Lab 2026.
