From June 10-12, 2026, the writing workshop “Mapping Asti” lead by Bernhard Studlar will take place at the Asti Teatro Festival in Asti, Piemont.
The yearly festival focuses on contemporary theatre and concepts of new dramaturgy in the broadest sense. Next to national and regional premieres, the Scintille competition for young writers under the age of 35 will be staged, at which plays of young theatre makers will be showcased and subsequently awarded by the audience as well as by a professional jury.
The workshop “Mapping Asti” is part of the additional festival programme and will be mentored by WIENER WORTSTAETTEN artistic director Bernhard Studlar. Together with the participants the aim of the workshop is to explore how everyday life can take on new meanings. From observation (and documentation) to “literarization” through imagination. With the help of different writing exercises, participants create poetic perspectives on their city and together write/draw a new map of Asti.
