Barbara K. Anderlic qu

Barbara K. Anderlič, born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, studied translation (English, Slovenian, Spanish) in Graz and then moved for several years to Shanghai, China.
There she was involved in countless performances on and behind the stage, including Nick Yu’s “Drift” (Shanghai Contemporary Theatre Festival and Edingburgh Festival Fringe). In the winter of 2013, she led a theatere workshop for the Thespo Youth Theatre Group Festival in Mumbai, India. During the workshop, the participants worked on three Spanish plays that Anderlič had translated into English especially for the workshop.
Most recently, she directed Mike Bartlett’s “Cock” for the Shanghai Pride Festival and took part in the Theatre Translation Forum at the Theater Biennale in Wiesbaden in 2014.
She writes in German and English and also works as a translator. She is currently working on a graphic novel about the LGBTQI scene in China.
Winner of the 2015 Global Playwriting Contest of the International Theatre Institute.
